Brooklyn is Calling.
Hey Chicago, Brooklyn called and they want Chicago comedians at their festival this fall. The Brooklyn Comedy Festival will be accepting submissions for its August 2014 festival now through April 30th online via Eventbrite, so hop on it. Submission fees are pretty small too, check it out!
Performers wishing to submit can do so here. All genres of comedy will be eligible, including (but not limited to): standup, sketch, duo, improv, and musical comedy. An unedited three to seven minute video is required for consideration. Each submission will cost $10 until April 16th, when the price increases to $15.
The August 2013 Brooklyn Comedy Festival took place over six nights in Williamsburg. There was also a holiday event in December. Every venue was filled to capacity. Shows featured performances by Reggie Watts, Todd Barry, Hannibal Buress, Mike O’Brien, Chris Gethard, Kate Berlant, Mark Normand, Sean Patton, Hari Kondabolu, Kevin Barnett, Jermaine Fowler and more. For 2014, the Brooklyn Comedy Festival will be expanding to additional neighborhoods, including Park Slope. Events will take place August 18th-23rd, with a wrap party open to the public on August 24th.
